Fractions

We started fractions this week. Ugh. Fractions. Does anyone else feel that way about fractions?? We will be investigating, so it's not unbearable. The first few sessions are all about sharing. Today's lesson introduced which fractions are bigger using fraction cakes and branex paper. I am thinking of bringing in fruit and brownies to share with the class. So I will put the students in groups of 4 and give each group fruit and brownies and ask them to share equally.

    I love fractions! but sometimes I get confused and need some help but I think that I am getting the hang of it now.

    I like fractions , but i think they can get a little hard sometimes.

    It's so good to read your blogs about fractions. I enjoyed our lesson and group work today. Tomorrow it will be different and some will be recording their findings and posting it.
